Join the Wang Lab as a postdoctoral fellow to drive our next-generation fluorescence probe projects. You will design and synthesize small-molecule fluorescent probes, optimize their photophysical properties and validate performance in vitro and in vivo. You’ll collaborate closely with biologists, engineers and surgeons to translate chemical tools into clinical workflows.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Biomedical Engineering or related field
Strong background in organic synthesis and fluorescence spectroscopy
Experience with in vitro/in vivo imaging assays preferred
To Apply:
Send a cover letter outlining your research interests and a CV to Dr. Wang at wanglei@ohsu.edu.
The Fluorescence Molecular Imaging Internship in the Wang lab at OHSU provides hands-on training for students interested in scientific research careers. Interns gain experience in:
Wet-bench techniques: organic synthesis, chemical characterization, cell culture, immunostaining, molecular biology
Imaging modalities: fluorescence microscopy, macroscopic imaging
Data analysis: image processing, basic programming for quantitative image analysis
Experimental design: planning, troubleshooting and documenting research workflows
Qualifications:
Currently majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
Completion of a general chemistry lecture and laboratory course
To Apply:
Send a cover letter describing your research interests and career goals, along with your transcript, to Dr. Lei Wang at wanglei@ohsu.edu.
